I want to enquire about Alternative Provisions for my child. How do I do that?

We have provided links to our referral form on our "home" and "contact" page. This will help us to process your request as quickly as possible. If for any reason the form doesn't work, feel free to send us an email, text or a WhatsApp message. Due to the amount of work we have on, we cannot take referral requests over the phone but we will call you to discuss your application once we have received the form. There may be a waiting pool for students. All information you give us is kept in line with our "Data Protection Policy".

I want to register my child with Animal School but I do not live in Brighton and Hove. Can my child join if they are in a different area?

We are in the process of registering with all the local councils however this takes a while as each one is different. We are currently a very small team and are working hard to bring our provision to everyone. Please get in contact because we may be able to offer you a reduced rate while we are sorting this out and also if you have not got an EHCP.

Are there any students that you cant accept for your service?

Unfortunately due to our insurance, we are not able to accept applications from students that have been permanently excluded from school. There may be other situations where we sadly can't help a student. For more information on this please get in touch or read our "Admissions Policy"

Do you still provide external visits with the animals?

A couple of times a year we will bring our animals to a school or care home but we are not currently providing visits to people's homes. We provide private animal experiences in the Mongolian yurt. Please get in touch to book.

We will need to discuss nut and hair allergies before you attend the session.

Do you have to have a licence for what you do?
Yes! I have a full animal activities licence with a 5 star rating! This is now a legal requirement for all companies that offer events with live animals.

Do you have public liability insurance, a DBS and safeguarding cover?
Of course as these are a legal requirement. We have these and many more policies. I am always happy to provide all documentation prior to booking.

How many animals do you actually have?

I say there is 120 but I am counting a whole colony of cockroaches, snails and harvest mice as 1! This is because otherwise I it would be a lot more!

Are they all rescue animals?

No but the majority of them are.

How much does it cost to feed the animals?

It costs between £100-£120 a week to feed all the animals. This is raised by the paid work from the clubs and therapy sessions. We also accept fundraisers and donations!

Can I donate towards the upkeep of your animals?
Donations are always welcome but not expected. Get in touch if you want to donate.

How long have you been running your Animal School?

When I was a very young child I put on animal themed puppet shows about the animal world. I have always illustrated and done school projects on animals. I began a pet club ears ago when I was working at a pet shop, it built up from there. I have been providing parties and school visits for the last decade. I have done thousands of different shows during this time. For more information read the "About Lindsay" section on the main page.

How long have you been running the Youtube channel?

The Youtube channel started with the covid19 lockdown as a promise to the children that attend my local after school club. There is more videos to come, it just takes a while to film them!
